Male enhancement drug in middle of football coach’s firing - 247 news  A high school football coach in California is out of a job after two students allegedly spiked water at a junior varsity football practice with a male enhancement drug.  An investigation into the July 12 incident revealed that Luis Barajas, who coached at Helen Bernstein High School in Hollywood, did not disclose to either school officials or parents that some players had possibly drunk the contaminated water until two weeks later, according to a report obtained by the Los Angeles Times via the Public Records Act.  “No parent complaints were received at Bernstein, school police [were] not involved, no testing of the alleged contaminated water took place and there [were] no student illness reports,” according to a statement by the general counsel’s office for the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Barajas, who was fired on Aug. 7, also failed to secure a permit for practice, and the report also found that the school’s athletic department failed to properly vet an assistant coach and allowed students to take the field for practice before verifying their academic eligibility.  A spokeswoman for the school district told the Times on Tuesday that parents weren’t notified of the spiked water because officials “did not find evidence” that any student actually drank the altered water, which was not tested because it was thrown out before the allegations were reported.  While difficult to judge without knowing the amount ingested, an orthopedic surgeon in California told the newspaper that the male enhancement drug could produce a change in blood pressure for people taking medication with nitrates due to high blood pressure.  Barajas did not return messages seeking comment, the Times reports.  District officials declined to comment on any disciplinary action taken against the students. The Dragons (1-3) are scheduled to face off against Abraham Lincoln High School on Friday.
