Many people believe that bald men have more testosterone than others. This is not the case, as explained by dr. dr. Stefan Buntrock, urologist from Göttingen on UroChannel. Androgenetic alopecia is inherited and has to do with testosterone receptors at the hair follicles. The active metabolite of testosterone, dihydrotestosterone is responsible for premature aging of the hair roots with consecutive hair loss. Finasteride can be used to counteract this development, but dr. Buntrock explains that there are downsides with this strategy as well. In the end of the video he names famous baldheads: Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Telly Savalas, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Patrick Stewart, Lord Voldemort, John Malkovich, Lex Luthor, Mr. Clean, Andre Agassi, Mike Tyson and Davie504.
